The Arroyo Grande Village Improvement Association co-sponsored AG’s entrance in the “America in Bloom” competition. Contest judges made a trip to visit the City last week and were thoroughly impressed with the locality’s beautification efforts. The competition results will be announced September 27th and 28th. But, it sounds like the community already benefited a great deal from the preparation efforts. Read about it in the Times Press Recorder.
Now onto the Santa Maria and Orcutt real estate market roundup. My last snapshot was taken on May 3, 2007. Inventory in Santa Maria continues its march upward. It has now broken the 800 home level. At present there are 810 homes on the market, and 111 homes under contract as pending or contingent. In the past 30 days, 80 homes have sold, 75 listings have expired, and 203 new listings were placed on the market. There was a slight decrease in new listings from the previous figure of 223 at my last look. The most expensieve home sold in the last month was a 7 bedroom, 4 bath, 4200 square foot custom home nestled on almost 7 acres in the Orcutt Hills. It went for $1.4 million. The median price for a home sold was around $398,000. At around that price, you could purchase a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1450 sq. ft. cul-de-sac home on a 10,000 square foot lot in Orcutt. Take a peek.
