Santa Maria is now the largest city in Santa Barbara County with approximately 100,000 residents. Santa Maria has larger department stores: Macy’s, Kohl’s and Sears, and numerous local shops at the Santa Maria Town Center. Marian Medical Center is currently undergoing a major renovation and face lift providing better access to modern medical care to Santa Maria residents. The Santa Maria Auto Mall bordering Highway 101 has grown to include Santa Maria Nissan, Santa Maria Mazda, and Ford, Lincoln, Mercury of Santa Maria. Nearby are Toyota of Santa Maria, BMW of Santa Maria, and Community Volkswagen of Santa Maria. And, Santa Maria Airport offers a new direct flight to Las Vegas, Nevada and continues its services to Los Angeles International Airport. Recently, Santa Maria has received recognition for its world class wineries and vineyards.
